Vacuuming your carpet thoroughly twice a week, clean spills promptly, this will make a major difference in maintaining your carpet.

Also it is extremely important to have all the attachments on your vacuum cleaner to allow you to vacuum along the baseboard were the carpet ends.

Or you will get what is called a filtration stain which comes from the soil and dust that will blow off the top of the carpet fibre and will filter it self along the baseboard and will cause that black soil stain along your baseboard.

To remove this filtration stain could be costly to remove.

Clean Spills Immediately

Remove as much food spills as possible by scraping the carpet gently with a spoon or dull knife.

Absorb wet spills as quickly as possible by blotting repeatedly with white paper towel or white cloth towels. Always blot; never rub or scrub abrasively, as a fuzzy area may result.

When blotting, work from the outer edge in toward the center of the spot to avoid spreading the spill.

Remove the stain using one of the cleaning items from the checklist below.

Rinse The Cleaned Area With Water

Rinse the cleaned carpet area with water to remove detergent residue that may become sticky and cause rapid re-soiling.

Absorb any remaining moisture by placing several layers if white towels over the spot and weighing them down with a heavy object. This step is necessary even when the carpet doesn’t seem particularly stained.

Materials Needed

White cloths or white paper towels

Vinegar solution

Mix 1 part white vinegar to 1 part water.

Ammonia solution

Mix one tablespoon of ammonia to one cup of water. (Do not use on wool or wool-blend carpets.)

Non Oily nail polish remover

Lighter fluid
Methylated spirits

Spot remover

TPC Carpet and Fabric Spot Remover

* this information is advise to help you tackle spot stains in between professional cleaning visits TPC Carpet Care is not responsible for and damage or loss caused as a result of this advise.

Rapid Response Critical

Flood restoration work is initially and most importantly about rapid response.

TPC Carpet Care 7 days a week, 24 hour emergency service is vital when limiting the damage that a serious flood can do to your property.

Water Extraction

The first course of action to limit damage is the extraction of any excess water from your carpet. The quicker this water can be removed the better.

The longer it is left the greater the chances of it being absorbed into the flooring materials, the skirtings and structural baseplates of the walls, thus making the task of dehumidifying that much more difficult.

Health Warning

With all flood water situations health hazards are an issue, hence the importance of cleaning the flooded carpet and applying an anti-microbial solution that inhibits waterborne bacteria and prevents the growth of mildew and mould.

Drying Process

In most flood situations the carpet will need to be lifted and the underlay removed and dried. Blowers are then installed to move the air under the carpet to accelerate drying.

Our technicians will then monitor the moisture content of the floor and wall structures.

If required dehumidifiers are installed to completly dry out the hard structures of the room before the carpet is relayed.

This step is vital, as a carpet relayed too early, over a moist sub structure will lead to mould and odour problems with your carpet further down the track.

The final stage is the relaying of the underlay and carpet by a qualified carpet layer to restore your room to its original condition.

Insurance

TPC Carpet Care will work with all insurance companies, assisting you through the process and in many cases direct billing to the nominated insurance company.

Most insurance companies will authorise the works quickly.

Any excess you have on the policy can, after approval, be paid directly to TPC Carpet Care to further simplify the process.

THE STEP PROCESS

STEP 1- PRE-INSPECTION

Our technicians will start with a thorough pre-inspection of the carpeted areas to be cleaned. They will inspect your particular areas of concern as well as noting carpet construction, soiling conditions, test for colorfastness and any possible permanent staining.

STEP 2 – PRE-VACUUM *

Your carpet will be thoroughly vacuumed with a commercial vacuum cleaner to remove dry soil and materials.

STEP 3 – PRE-TREATMENT OF STAINS

Identified stains are treated prior to cleaning with a variety of specific products which are formulated for certain stains depending on variety of factors, such as ph level and fiber types

STEP 4 – PRE-SPRAY / DEODOURISER

All areas to be cleaned will be pre-sprayed with a specially formulated detergent designed to break-down soil particles and stains, the pre-spray also contains an effective biocide to eliminate bad odor and leave a fresh pleasant fragrance.

STEP 5 – AGITATION

Using a carpet rake the pre-spray is ‘worked’ into the carpet. This is done to loosen and dislodge deep down soiling and stains

STEP 6 – STEAM EXTRACTION

The carpet is Steam cleaned and rinsed using powerful extraction machines that deliver immersion heated water and emulsifiers to remove deep soiling and stains. Water pressure is regulated to suit carpet type and soiling. The powerful extraction leaves the carpet clean and ready to walk on immediately. The carpet will dry depending on season and airflow in around 2-3 hours

STEP 7- POST- INSPECTION

Carpet areas are inspected and extra attention given if required until the technician and client are satisfied with the end result.

STEP 8 – FINISHING TOUCHES / EXTRA SERVICES

Carpet pile is reset and any extra products applied if requested such as CARPET PROTECTOR.
